VP calls on Bulgaria to activate cooperation with Iraq
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi on Wednesday called on Bulgaria to activate its economic and industrial cooperation with Iraq, to reinforce the historic relations between the two countries, according to a release issued by al-Hashemi’s office. “Al-Hashemi today received the Bulgarian ambassador in Baghdad, and discussed with him methods of reinforcing and expanding the horizons of mutual relations between the two states,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “During the meeting, al-Hashemi submitted a number of suggestions to the ambassador, aiming at activating the historic relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of oil, power, and excavation industries,” it added. For his part, the Bulgarian ambassador in Iraq said that his country is “interested in investing in the economic fields of Iraq.” The ambassador also invited the VP to visit Bulgaria, but the release did not mention whether al-Hashemi accepted the invitation.
