White bloc supports canceling Ration Card

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The White bloc called on some political blocs not to ignite the current situation by exploiting the decision of canceling the Ration Card for purposes of propaganda on account of the citizens’ interests.

A statement by the bloc’s office mentioned that “We consider the resolution of canceling the Ration Card as a reformative step for wrong situation for it aims to primarily serve the citizens.”

“The current Ration Card provides the citizens with food items for 10 months only at cost of $ 9 per person where some items are of poor-quality, while the decision of the Cabinet in this regard is professional and well-considered step, where the sums which have been allocated of IQD 15,000 per person will enable the citizens to buy foodstuffs of high-quality,” the statement added.

It concluded by confirming “This decision will create many job opportunities in all provinces in addition to other privileges.”

It is worth mentioning that the CoM has announced, on last Tuesday, the replacement of the Ration Card with financial allocations starting from the beginning of the next March, 2013.
