Zebari reiterates Iraq’s demand to Syria to extradite wanted men
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari reiterated on Monday the Iraqi government’s demand to Syria to extradite wanted men in the bloody explosion that took place in Baghdad and to suspend activities that will lead to the deterioration of the Iraqi national security. Speaking at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in Baghdad , Zebari said that Iraqi will send a mission to the U.N. on the crisis with Syria , which we want to solve for the good of the bilateral relations. “We have discussed several important issues, including the fallback of the Iraqi-Syrian relations,” he said. Relations between Iraq and Syria deteriorated after Baghdad alleged that Damascus was harboring leaders behind one of two devastating truck bombings that killed 95 people and wounded about 600 in the Iraqi capital on August 19. Earlier this week, Iraq recalled its ambassador in Damascus and Syria retaliated within hours by ordering back its envoy from Baghdad . SH (P)/SR 1
