Zibari, al-Arabi discuss agendas of Arab Economic-Social Summit
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zibari, discussed in Riyadh, with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabeel al-Arabi the activities of the third Arab Economic & Social Summit.
A statement by the Ministry cited that “The meeting between the two sides tackled the development priorities among the summit’s agendas and means of enhancing the economic and investment cooperation amusing the Arabic countries.”
“Both parties discussed Iraq’s obligations, as it is now the leader of the Arab Summit, towards the League, Palestine and the Arabic countries where Zibari reviewed the political developments in Iraq,” the statement added.
“The AL Secretary General praised Iraq’s successful chairmanship to the Summit through its active role in promoting the mutual Arabic cooperation and adopting several initiatives as well as hosting a number of ministerial meetings in Baghdad,” it pointed out.
“The meeting also discussed the Syrian crisis and its ramifications on the region, as well as discussing the outcomes of the common work between Iraq and Kuwait over relieving Iraq from UN sanctions stated in UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter,” the statement concluded.
