VP, Kurdish president discuss preparations for holding summit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi discussed with Kurdistan’s President Massoud Barzani on Tuesday the ongoing preparations to hold a summit between the Presidential Board, prime minister and Barzani, a presidential statement said. “The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the political arena,” the statement said received by IraqiNews.com. “There are several problems in the security and political sides should be solved,” al-Hashemi said, calling on the political leaders to take crucial decisions. For his part, Barzani said “the presidential council will hold meetings with political leaders, noting that disagreements between federal and Kurdish governments are part of the general problems in Iraq.
