U.S. soldier killed in Diala attack

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Coalition force soldier was killed in an indirect fire (IDF) attack on October 16, 2008 in Diala, according to a release that was issued by the Multi National Force (MNF) in Iraq . “The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense,” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com. The U.S. army in Iraq uses the term IDF to refer to the attacks with mortars and Katyusha rockets. With the death of this soldier, casualties of the U.S. fatalities in Iraq during the month of October 2008 increased to reach nine.
