$7M contract concluded to set up theme part in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The investment authority in Wassit province has signed a contract with an Iraqi investor to establish an up-to-the-minute theme park worth $7 million, according to the authority’s head. “An agreement has been reached with Kut’s municipal department to allocate 30 donums (1 donum= 2,500 square meters) along the Tigris River for the park,” Sattar Jabbar told IraqiNews.com. Jabbar added that all machines will be imported from The Netherlands, Jabbar noted. The authority will provide all facilities for the investor by exempting him from customs charges and taxes, Jabbar noted. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province. SS (P)/SR 1
