President Talabani calls to supply Iraqi army with hi-tech weapons -spokesman

BAGHDAD/IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani on Thursday called to supply the Iraqi army with high-tech weapons, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. “President Jalal Talabani  called to supply the army with advanced weapons and equipment during his meeting with the minister of defense and high army commanders,” Maj. Gen. Mohamed al-Askari, spokesman for the Defense Ministry, told Aswan al-Iraq. The spokesman highlighted that Talabani applauded the performance of the Iraqi army particularly in “fighting terrorism and stabilizing security all over Iraq.” “Takabani called on all political faction to support the army as the sole guarantee for all Iraqi people denominations,” al-Askari added.
