4 children killed in landmine blast in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Four children were killed when a landmine exploded near them in southwestern Kut city on Friday, a police source in Wassit province said. “A landmine left from previous wars during the former regime’s time went off on Friday in the area of Zayn al-Qaws, southwestern Kut, killing four children,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The explosion, which was not the result of any acts of terror, occurred when the children tampered with the landmine,” he added.
