$2m. contracts to upgrade battery production

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi general company for battery manufacture signed contracts with local, Italian, and British firms to upgrade and diversify production of batteries at a value of more than $2 million, an Iraqi industry ministry source said on Saturday. “The company agreed with an Italian corporation to obtain an integrated assembling line for $1 million with the objective of improving the level of production,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The company signed another contract at a value of $780,000 with a foreign company to provide it with an up-to-date machine to mould lead tablets and a third one at a value of $329,000 with a British company to provide it with a filtering system to avoid evaporation of toxic lead from batteries,” he added.
