8 wounded in Baghdad blasts

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Eight persons were wounded on Sunday in two separate blasts that rocked eastern and downtown Baghdad, a police source said. “Today, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in al-Baladiyyat area, eastern Baghdad, near a police patrol vehicle, wounding four persons, including three patrolmen,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The explosion caused damage to the vehicle,” the source added. Meanwhile, a sticky IED targeting a vehicle carrying health ministry employees went off today near the ministry’s headquarters in Bab al-Muazzam area, central Baghdad, wounding four persons and causing damage to the vehicle, according to the same source.
