Abduction, robbery gang arrested in Diwaniya

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Security forces arrested an abduction and robbery gang operating in the two provinces of al-Muthana and Diwaniya, a police media source said on Tuesday. “The criminal investigations directorate of Diwaniya police arrested a 5-member gang wanted for tens of abduction and robbery crimes in the two provinces of al-Muthana and Diwaniya,” Brigadier Abdulaziz al-Salihi told IraqiNews.com. “Preliminary investigations render that the gang was abducting people for ransom,” he said. “The arrest operation took place in a neighborhood in Diwaniya,” he added, without specifying where for security reasons.
