Demonstration in Hilla condemn abuse of Christians

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: A number of representatives of civil society organizations on Friday took part in a demonstration demanding an end to violence against Christians in some areas in Iraq, according to a human rights activist. “The demonstration started in central Hilla, demanding killings and displacement of Christians be stopped,” Thaer Abduljabbar told Asawt al-Iraq. “The demonstration ended at Virgin Mary Church in Central Hilla, where speeches and poems where made by some demonstrators,” Abduljabbar, a Muslim, said. “Representatives of political parties in addition to local officials participated in the demonstration,” he added.
