Lower demand for dollar in CBI auctions this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar went down at the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week, registering $655.545 million, compared to $782.580 million in the previous week. The demand hit $170.845 million in cash, covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate of 1,179 and $484.700 million in foreign transfers outside the country covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate also of and 1,176 Iraqi dinars per dollar. None of the banks that participated in this week sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
