2 men arrested in Diwaniya

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Two men were arrested while attempting to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) to target the Diwaniya police chief on Monday, the province’s police spokesman said. “Policemen in Diwaniya captured on Monday two men trying to emplace and IED to target the province’s police chief, Maj. General Safaa Kadhem Ammoush, according to initial investigations with them,” Brig. Abdelaziz al-Salhi told IraqiNews.com. “The men planted the IED in al-Orouba neighborhood, central Diwaniya city,” Salhi said, declining to reveal the organization to which the two arrested men belonged.
