Sadr City water contaminated – health ministry

Iraq-Health BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Health Ministry on Tuesday said that tests conducted on the water in Sadr City in eastern Baghdad proved it to be contaminated, according to a statement released by the national information center. “The health teams found out that the water in Sadr City contains bacteria and blemishes,” the statement quoted a medical source as saying. “The health department in Baghdad started to take all necessary measures to sterilize the water,” he added. Several provinces in Iraq are suffering from cholera disease, mainly in central and southern Iraq. Medical sources attributed the outbreak of cholera to the contamination of the drinking water.
