VP calls on artists to monitor, correct political march

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi called on Iraqi artists to “monitor and correct” political march, stressing that Iraq ’s development responsibility lies with all Iraqis, according to a presidential release. “An artist today should work hard to concentrate on a national ID, and to bring hope and optimism to people,” the release that was received by IraqiNews.com quoted al-Hashemi while receiving a delegation from the Iraqi Artists Union. “During the meeting, the Union’s needs and the difficult circumstances that surround artists in Iraq were discussed,” it said.
