Presidency board meets to amend elections bill – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Lawmaker Mahmoud Othman on Friday ruled out that the presidency council would vote down the provincial elections law, but is searching for a legal way to amend it, to give minorities a “fair” representation. “President Jalal Talabani and Vice President Adil Abdulmahdi are not satisfied with the law in its current form,” Othman told IraqiNews.com. “It was supposed that the parliament would vote on a form that satisfies all sides in order not to delay elections,” he said.
