3 bombs defused in central Amara

Missan-Bombs MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Monday defused three bombs in central Amara city, the media director of the Missan police department said. “The anti-bomb squad defused two bombs in al-Wehda neighborhood near the food stores in south of Amara,” Colonel Sadeq Islam told IraqiNews.com. “The third bomb was defused in al-Muaalameen neighborhood neat the Missan international stadium,” he added. Since June 19, Missan has been witnessing a security plan codenamed Bashaer al-Salam (Promise of Peace) the government said aimed at eliminating gunmen and outlaws and imposing order and security all over the province. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad.
