Baghdad bombing attack casualties up to 45

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Casualties from Monday’s earlier bombing attack in al-Adhamiya, northern Baghdad, rose to 40 wounded and five deaths, a senior security official said. “On Monday morning, a terrorist detonated his explosive belt near a restaurant in al-Kisra, followed by two improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in the same site, bringing casualties up to five deaths and 40 others wounded,” Maj. General Qassem Atta, the official spokesman for the Fardh al-Qanoon (law imposing) plan, told IraqiNews.com. Earlier, a security source said that five civilians were killed and 30 others wounded when a car bomb ripped through northern Baghdad, followed by an improvised explosive device (IED) attack. “A car rigged with explosives went off in the area of al-Kisra, in the northern Baghdad district of al-Adhamiya, followed by an IED blast. The double attack left five people killed and 30 others wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com. He expected the attack casualties to go up, not giving more details. AmR (P) 1
