IED wounds 3 cops in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Three policemen were wounded on Wednesday when an improvised explosive device went off inside a house in northern Mosul , a police source said. “After receiving information about gunmen who attacked a Christian family, police elements rushed to al-Qahera neighborhood in northern Mosul to investigate the incident and when they entered the house, a bomb exploded, injuring three policemen,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The gunmen booby-trapped the house after their crime,” the source explained. A police source had said earlier that unidentified gunmen killed two Christian women and injured their mother in al-Qaher neighborhood in northern Mosul . Mosul , the capital city of Ninewa , lies 405 km north of Baghdad . The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
