Wassit’s investment department to set up sugar plant

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Wassit investment department on Wednesday signed a contract with two investors to build a sugar plant north of the city of al-Kut, according to the department chief. “The department signed the contract with an Iraqi investor and another from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to build a sugar plant in the district of al-Numaniya, (40 km) north of Kut,” Sattar Jaber told IraqiNews.com. “Arrangements were reached with the province’s municipal councils to allocate a plot of land for the project,” he added. The department had signed a contract in October to set up an up-to-date amusement park. Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
