Changing Ninewa’s border irresponsible attempt – IIP

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Islamic Party on Friday said that the residents of Ninewa do not accept having its Arab identity changed and that questioning this identity or changing the province’s borders are “irresponsible attempts,” according to a release issued by the IIP – Ninewa Branch. “Ninewa is Arab and there are other nationalities in the province that we respect,” read the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “Some statements create reactions among Iraqis and they are unconstitutional because the constitution prevents any demographic changes,” it added. “Seeking this change will destroy the whole country,” it noted. “Respecting the constitution is the basis especially for those who signed on it,” it asserted.
