Barazani criticizes al-Maliki on al-Jazeera

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com : President of Kurdistan region Masaod Barazani, and in a TV interview with al-Jazeera satellite channel on Sunday, criticized what he described premier Nouri al-Maliki’s “solitude” in making decisions, describing members of support councils as “betrayers,” and that they will be treated as an “enemy force.” “Al-Maliki makes decisions alone regarding many issues, especially those related to support councils,” Barazani said. “Many blocs reject to form those councils,” he added. “Those councils serve one side only and exploit the state’s funds,” he explained. “Those councils create disturbance in dispute areas, because they belong to the idea of mercenaries,” he proceeded. “Those councils’ elements are betrayers, and will be treated as enemy force,” he noted. “In case that the process of forming support councils would continue, there will be a confrontation,” he asserted.
