Condition to approve the pact – Iraqi communists

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com : The Iraqi Communist Party parliamentary bloc suggested amendments to the Iraqi-U.S. security pact that was passed by the Iraqi cabinet, and that the bloc would approve the pact in case those amendments are adopted, the party’s secretary general said on Sunday. “We have not yet received a copy of the pact’s final draft that was passed earlier today by the council of ministers,” Hameed Majeed Mousa told IraqiNews.com. “We dealt with the pact in a constructive way, and we submitted amendments to make it acceptable and qualified to be enacted by parliament,” he said. He did not mention further details about the suggested amendments. The communist party occupies two out of 275 seats in the Iraqi council of representatives. MH (P)/SR 1
