Kurdistan’s presidency wants pact to pass – official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com : The head of Kurdistan region’s presidency office on Sunday said that he hopes the Iraqi-U.S. security pact would be passed by Iraq’s Parliament, following its approval by the federal cabinet. “We supported the pact before it was approved by the federal cabinet,” Foad Hussein told IraqiNews.com. “Our evaluation for the pact relied on security, military, economic and political circumstances in Iraq,” he said. “The pact includes a timetable for U.S. forces’ withdrawal from Iraq, and issues related to Iraq’s sovereignty are clear in its articles,” he added.
