4 gunmen killed in clashes in Tikrit

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com : Four gunmen on Wednesday were killed in clashes with local people to the east of Tikrit city, said a security source from Salah al-Din province. “A number of gunmen attempted today to form a forged checkpoint at the highway near al-Naema village of Al-Dor suburb (20 km east of Tikrit),” the source told IraqiNews.com. “Residents of the area called the cops and then attacked the gunmen,” he said. “Four gunmen were killed, a fifth one was wounded and then arrested, while one civilian was injured in the clashes,” he added. “The armed men’s vehicle was set on fire, while their guns were seized, he noted.
