5 wanted persons captured in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: An interior ministry force captured five wanted persons with light arms and explosives in their possession during a raid in northern Kut city on Monday, a security source in Wassit said. “The interior ministry’s Quick Response force captured five men wanted by security authorities with Kalashnikov assault rifles, hand-grenades and home-made improvised explosive devices in their possession in a raid on the area of al-Hassan al-Askari, (10 km) northern Kut,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “Arrest warrants had been issue by a Kut court against those five on charges of waging armed attacks against Iraqi security forces and planting IEDs,” the source added, adding they are now under investigative custody.
