Health staff training center in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Construction work has begun on a health staff training center in Thi-Qar province at a cost of nearly $1.75 million, a local official said on Monday. “The project is financed through a donation by the United States for the construction of health staff training centers in eight provinces,” the media director of Thi-Qar’s health department, Saad Saleh, told IraqiNews.com. Thi-Qar, 380 km south of Baghdad, has an area of 12,900 square kilometers (4,980.7 sq mi). In 2003 the estimated population of the governorate was 1,454,200 people. Thi-Qar was the second Iraqi province where security responsibilities were transferred from the Multi-National Force (MNF) to the Iraqis. SS (P) 1
