Key AQI leader in Diala arrested
DIALA / IraqiNews.com: A leading member of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) was arrested in the province of Diala, the city’s police chief said on Tuesday. “An inmate of the Basra-based Bocca prison was incognito. Investigations revealed that the man turned out to be a prominent leader of al-Qaeda network of the name Hussein Latif, alias Abu Shakhsa,” Maj. General Abdelhussein al-Shimari told IraqiNews.com. “Abu Shakhsa is involved in the killing of 16 policemen in Diala. Some 56 charges are pressed against him,” he added. Bocca is the largest U.S. imprisonment facility. Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
