2 jewelers, police officer killed separately in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Two jewelers and a police officer were killed and 18 others wounded in two separate attacks by unidentified gunmen in central Mosul city on Saturday, a security source in Ninewa said. “Unidentified gunmen killed two brothers inside their gold shop in central Mosul without apparent reason,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The gunmen emplaced an improvised explosive device (IED) before the police arrived for investigations. The explosion left one police officer in the rank of lieutenant and 18 others, including 11 policemen, wounded,” the source added. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
