Workshop on dialogue in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Missan city on Saturday hosted a workshop on national reconciliation that aimed to promote the culture of dialogue and peace among the youth in Iraqi society. “A total of 60 young men from Baghdad’s al-Adhamiya area and Amara city attended the one-day workshop, where Sheikh Mohammed al-Silawi and Ghazi Glob gave lectures,” the chairman of the Iraqi Institute of Peace (IIP), Iyad al-Nouri, told IraqiNews.com. Earlier, a delegation of 30 young men from the capital Baghdad arrived in Missan province at an invitation from its local council in an initiative to promote cooperation and fraternity between Iraqi youth. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SS (P) 1
