Cornerstone for 1st police training center laid in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Thi-Qar Governor Sabah al-Fatlawi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the first police training center in the province, a police media director in Thi-Qar said. “The center, in the northern part of the city of al-Nassiriya, will stand over an area of 25,000 square meters and cost a total of 6 billion Iraqi dinars (roughly $5.1 million) and will take up to one and half years to finish,” Col. Sadeq al-Mashrafawi told IraqiNews.com. Thi-Qar, after the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, has been suffering from a lack in training courses for security agencies.
