BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) in Iraq’s Kurdistan region said that Monday will be the first day of Eidul-Adha (the Greater Bairam), according to an official statement. “Monday, the 8 th of the Gregorian month of December, will be the first day of Eidul-Adha in the Kurdistan region,” read the statement that was published on the official web site of the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). Eidul-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
