ID10b+ to sustain health, environment sectors in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The Diala local council on Friday appropriated more than 10 billion Iraqi dinars to boost the health and environment sectors in the province, according to an informed local source. “The council has allocated the sum of ID9.270 billion from the supplementary budget for Diala for the year 2008 to carry out a number of health projects in the province,” Ahmed Bakka, the local council’s health committee chairman, told IraqiNews.com. “The planned projects comprise four blood banks in the hospitals of Baladruz, al-Khalis, al-Muqdadiya and Khanaqin, in addition to a center for artificial limbs in Baaquba city and wards for the treatment of burns in the hospitals of al-Muqdadiya, Baladruz and al-Khalis with 20 beds per each ward,” he said. Bakka noted that a sum of ID1 billion was allocated to enhance the environment sector by setting up a laboratory to examine poisons, water and the soil.
