Project to light 52 neighborhoods in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A local company has initiated work on a project to light 52 residential neighborhoods in Missan province at a total cost of 18 billion Iraqi dinars. “The completion period of the project, which will be carried out in two stages, is three months,” a senior official from the electricity department, Engineer Jumaa Azafa Salman, told IraqiNews.com. “The first stage includes 35 neighborhoods, while the second includes 17,” Salman explained. The Iraqi government has allocated 284 billion Iraqi dinars for provincial development projects in Missan. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SS (P) 1
