UN envoy wishes Iraqis happy Eid

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG) Mr. Staffan de Mistura has expressed his wishes to Iraqis for a peaceful and blessed Eidul-Adha, according to a statement released by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). “May this special occasion bring all Iraqis one step closer to achieving peace, reconciliation and further progress towards stability and democracy,” the statement that was received by IraqiNews.com quoted de Mistura as saying. “Mr. de Mistura takes this opportunity to reiterate the United Nations’ commitment to assist the people and government of Iraq during this challenging period for their country’s future,” the statement added.
