AQI may return to Iraq – U.S. commander

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The commander of the Multi National Forces (MNF) in northern Iraq on Monday said that there is a possibility that Al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) Organization could return to areas throughout the country, revealing that numbers of foreign fighters in Iraq have been reduced during the last six months. “Developments in the security situation are brittle,” the commander said in a televised press conference. “Five MNF units are working with Iraqi troops to monitor Iraq’s border with Syria,” he added.
