36 displaced families return home in Wassit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Thirty-six displaced families have returned home in northern Wassit, a security source from the province said on Sunday. “Those families have returned to their houses in al-Sowayra suburb, 135 km north of Kut city,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “This issue occurred in light of recent security improvements and the enforcement of the rule of law throughout the province,” he added. “Each family was granted 1.1 million Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar =1,118 Iraqi dinars) from the Iraqi government,” he noted. Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 1
