Police officer arrested in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A combined Iraqi – U.S. force arrested a police officer (captain) along with two of his brothers southwestern Kirkuk , a source from the province’s police said on Saturday, refusing to reveal reasons behind the arrest. “A combined force that consisted of Kirkuk’s police and Multi National Forces (MNF) arrested captain Nazhan Sarheeb al-Izi of al-Multaqa district’s police (30 km southwestern Kirkuk),” the source told IraqiNews.com. “Two of the captain’s brothers were also arrested,” he added. He explained that interrogation is currently underway with the officer and his brothers, refusing to reveal any further details. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of Baghdad .
