Iraq playing world football heavyweights Monday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq on Monday is playing a friendly charity game against world football stars in the Italian city of Milan, ahead of Iraq’s participation in the 19th Gulf Cup. Thirty percent of the money from the game, to be played under the aegis of the World Peace Organization, will go to Iraq’s children in ceremonies that will see the signing of “football for peace” agreement. Raheem Hameed, Iraq’s assistant coach, told IraqiNews.com over the phone that the team had a training session in Milan in preparation for the game, adding the organizing committee has arranged a visit for the Iraqi delegation to watch a game between AC Milan and Udinese in the 17th week of the Italian football league.
