7 killed, 2 injured in acts of violence in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Seven people were killed and two others were wounded in acts of violence that took place in Iraq during the past 24 hours, security source said. “An explosive device, planted by unknown gunmen on the road in al-Mushahada region in northern Baghdad, went off targeting the motorcade of local police chief Colonel Ismail Faisal, killing him along with four of his bodyguards,” the source told IraqiNews.com. In Mosul, a police source said that gunmen opened fire at a police vehicle patrol on Tuesday, injuring two cops in al-Sirgakhana region in central Mosul. In Kirkuk, a source from the police operations room said that policemen found a 50-year-old civilian body in al-Hussein neighborhood. In Wassit, Iraqi police found a civilian body of a man who was hanged inside a house in Anwar al-Sadr region. SH (P) 1
