IED sets fire to oil pipeline in Kirkuk

KIRKUK /IraqiNews.com: An explosive charge has set fire to an oil pipeline in Kirkuk city, causing damage to the tube that is connected to Bay Hassan oilfield, a local police source said on Thursday. “At a late hour last night, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an oil pipeline in Kirkuk, which is used for local consumption,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The damage will not affect oil exports,” the source added. Kirkuk, the centre of the northern Iraqi petroleum industry, lies 250 km (156 miles) northeast of the capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
