Central market reopened in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Trade on Sunday reopened the central al-Thulathaa market in Baghdad as part of a plan to develop central markets and to establish an investment base in the country. “The ministry plans to privatize several markets in the future,” read a ministerial statement received by IraqiNews.com, quoting an under-secretary of state in the ministry, Suwayba Mahmoud, as saying during the inauguration ceremony. The market is built on an area of 800 square meters, the statement noted, adding that rehabilitation work has taken four months to complete. SS (P) 1
