41 out of 241 projects implemented in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A total of 41 projects were realized within the plan to develop provinces out of the 241 projects planned to be implemented in 2008, the official spokesman for the Missan province said. “The total projects within developing provinces’ budget are 241 projects with a total cost of $129 million,” Mohamed Saleh told IraqiNews.com. “Only 41 projects were implemented in 11 services departments; including water, roads, municipalities, sewage, communications, local administration, health and university,” he added. The government had allocated $129 million for Missan within developing provinces budget in 2008/ Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SH (P)/SR 3
