No casualties in Amara rocket attack – source

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: There were no casualties left by the rocket attack that targeted an Iraqi army camp near Amara city, far southeastern Iraq, a source from the Iraqi army in Missan province said on Saturday. “The incident of rocketing al-Btera military airstrip, 10 km northwest of Amara, that hosts both Iraqi and U.S. forces, left no casualties or damages,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier, the Iraqi defense ministry said in a statement that a “terrorist group on Saturday (Jan. 3) fired Grad missiles from al-Tayib area at a camp of the Iraqi army’s 10th Division’s 38th Infantry Brigade in Amara”. The statement noted that three unfired missiles were seized and two suspected members of the group that fired the missiles were arrested, and that three other missiles were seized in the arrested men’s houses.
