7 civilians killed, wounded in 3rd Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: One civilian was killed and six others were wounded in a blast that ripped through Baghdad’s eastern area of Zayouna, the third explosion to hit the capital today. “A roadside improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unknown men near al-Shaab playground in Baghdad’s Zayouna area went off today, killing one civilian and wounding six others,” an Iraqi police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Security forces sealed off the area of the blast and the wounded were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, the source added. Earlier today, eight persons were wounded when two roadside explosive devices detonated near Rasheed Camp in the area between Uqba Bin Nafie Square and al-Mashn commercial mall in southeastern Baghdad.
