Soccer fans demand to dismiss Vieira

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A number of Iraqi soccer fans in Baghdad demanded that Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira be dismissed, as he appeared unable to communicate with the Iraqi team during the 19 th Gulf tournament in the same way he had in the 2007 Asian tournament. “The Iraqi Soccer Federation should dismiss Vieira,” Hussein Mohammed, 41 years, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Vieira was unable to provide suitable solutions, and seemed unable to handle the role of a coach,” Saad Abdulrahman said. “The Iraqi Soccer Federation and Vieira should be brave enough and submit their resignation,” Ibrahim Mohammed Mustafa added. Yesterday, the Iraqi soccer team departed the competitions of the 19th Gulf tournament currently taking place in the Omani capital, Muscat, after losing two matches. On Wednesday (Jan. 7), the Iraq lost its second match in the tournament 4-0 to Oman. Last Sunday (Jan. 4), the Iraqi team lost its first match in the tournament 3-1 to Bahrain. MH (S)/SR   1
