Thi-Qar’s Military Academy graduates 226 officers

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: The Thi-Qar Military Academy held ceremonies to graduate 226 officers in the presence of the Iraqi chief of staff and local officials, the academy’s assistant director said. “Under the auspices of General Babakr Zebari, ceremonies were held to graduate 226 Iraqi army officers at the Imam Ali Military Academy,” Lt. Colonel Jaafar al-Maksousi told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Imam Ali Military Academy, 20 km in northeastern al-Nassiriya city, was established on September 21, 2006, coinciding with the day that witnessed security transfer from the Multi-National Force (MNF) to Iraqi forces. So far it has graduated 630 officers in the different branches of service. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, is 380 km southern Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
