2 IEDs leave 9 casualties in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Nine persons, including three Iraqi soldiers, were killed or wounded when two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off in western and downtown Baghdad, a police source said on Monday. “Today, a roadside explosive charge detonated near an Iraqi army patrol vehicle in al-Yarmuk neighborhood, western Baghdad, killing three servicemen and wounding four civilians,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Meanwhile, as explosive device stuck to a civilian vehicle went off today in Bab al-Sheikh area, downtown Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding another,” the same source added. Earlier today, two blasts ripped through the capital Baghdad, leaving six persons, including two policemen, killed, and 12 others wounded. SS (P) 1
